Previously, when I took up an endowment plan for each of my twins from Carey, an agent from Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®). I couldn’t believe that her manager was so young, and Carey had just turned 21yrs old. I was considering if I should get the plan from my family agent who has been in this line for more than 20years. But in the end after the third appointment, I signed up with Carey instead. This is my first encounter with Insurance.
It took me great courage to join the insurance industry. I was previously working as an administrative staff for almost two years and I realise that if I were to continue working in that company, I will not be able to provide a comfortable lifestyle for my family. Hence, I’ve decided to ask my Financial Consultant if I’m able to work part time as a Financial Consultant to earn an extra income for my family. She immediately fixed an appointment for me to meet her manager, Ern Ern, a successful manager in Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®).
Firstly, I was attracted to join because of the money as Ern Ern had shown me the possibility of earning 3-4 times of what my peers are earning outside. Secondly, it’s because I know I can find the much needed support in the organisation as there were a few consultants whom I had known since my Secondary school days. Ern Ern used the “money factor” and “friends factor” to convince me to join as a full-timer.
Knowing that I needed help in my examinations, Ern Ern spent much time studying with me a few times to make sure I understand the concept. Subsequently, I was invited to base camp. It was at the base camp that it struck me deeply when Peter Tan talked about whether money is evil and what will I do if my loved one is brain-dead/coma and depending on the life-saving device. It was then that I realised that I have not given my best to my family. My parents have been very supportive of me joining this career, and they have helped me greatly by looking after my sons most of the time, leaving me to run for my productions without any worries. I began to wonder what I can do to repay my parents love. My parents are very traditional people, so we don’t openly express our love for each other. The only way I can repay them will be to provide them with a good life in their old age. I have not brought my family on any trips. Hence, I would love to be able to bring my family on overseas trips regularly. My main motivation in this career is my loved ones; I really want to do my best and not look back in regret.
I am thankful that I am able to join Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®) and with the strong support from my organisation and guidance from Ern Ern. I believe that I will be able to create miracles not only in my life but also to people around me. Visit me @ petertan.com.sg
